How to choose a tv stand
How to choose a TV stand is a question a lot of people are asking themselves these days. Millions of people are changing their CRT TV to either a Plasma or LCD hd tv or even to an LED tv and some brave souls are considering jumping straight in to purchasing 3d tv’s when they are launched later this year. What ever your choice you are going to need a tv stand. With all these new tv’s being bought the majority of us are going to buy a new tv stand for our new television. The first thing to consider is if you want a tv stand at all as most if not all new style tv’s can be hung on a wall via wall mounted brackets, you can even get wall mounted tv brackets that have pull out arms that you can manoeuvre when you want to watch the tv. Most people though prefer having their tv on a tv stand. They consider their tv stand a beautiful piece of furniture, enhancing the beauty of their new, in my case, plasma tv. Once having made the decision to purchase a tv stand you need to know the size of tv that is going to sit on it and just as importantly the weight of the tv, as some of the larger Plasma tv’s can weigh up to 100lbs so you need a substantially strong tv stand to carry that kind of weight. The next thing to consider is shelf space and the number of shelves. If you have surround sound you’ll have an amplifier, you’ll also have a centre speaker. You’ll probably have blu ray or a dvd player. You might have a satellite box, a game controller and even a video player. If you have, you need space. Do you want everything on show on a coffee table type tv stand, maybe made from toughened smoked glass or maybe polished marble designed in Italy. You may want to hide things in a cabinet style tv stand made from oak with glass doors or even ornate solid doors that you open when in use. There are so many styles of TV Stands to choose from that you can’t help but enjoy every minute of the process and be assured that whatever your taste there will be a tv stand for you.
